Virtually every phrase you need to know for Spanish conversation.

An Indispensable tool for Learning Spanish

Tools For Learning Spanish. When you learn Spanish, you count on tools to help you out. Things like a Spanish/English dictionary, a computer with Internet, maybe a course, a book or two. I'd like to take a minute and tell you about one of the best tools you can use for learning Spanish. A Digital Voice Recorder.

What is a Digital Voice Recorder?

A Digital Voice Recorder (DVR) is a small device,

about half the size of the smallest cell phone, that fits in the palm of your hand. The DVR can record and play back your voice. No cassette tape is required, it records to an internal circuit chip. The one I have hold 8 hours of recordings, organized up to 99 recordings in each of 4 different folders. Because of its small size, it fits in a shirt or pants pocket, or a purse, and it can go with you everywhere. And that's important because when you learn Spanish there are a lot of uses for this device.

How Can I Use a Digital Voice Recorder?

1. Use a Digital Voice Recorder to record yourself speaking Spanish and hear how your pronunciation is coming along.

2. You can use a DVR to record conversations with the Spanish speakers you practice talking with.

Doing this is a fantastic way to review and learn new words and phrases.

3. You can also use the Digital Voice Recorder to capture parts of TV and radio that you listen to later for learning and review.

Many times new words go by quickly and are difficult to catch. With the DVR, you can easily play the new words and phrases over and over as many times as you want.

4. You can even use the DVR just to make notes for yourself about new things you want to study, things related to learning Spanish or other things too.

Which Digital Voice Recorder is Best For Me?

There are dozens of different models of DVR on the market, so which one is best? You'll want to shop and compare the best one in the price range you want to spend. The nicest Digital Voice Recorder I've seen for the money is the RCA 5030. It has four folders for organizing sounds, time and date stamp of what you record, mic and earphone jacks, 3 record speeds, uses 2 AAA batteries, and even has advanced features like insert, append, etc.

RCA 5030 Features

What sets this unit apart from the others though is that it records files in standard mp3 format. Further, it connects to your Personal Computer as a standard storage device on USB. There is no software needed on your computer. When the DVR is connected, you simply use your familiar Windows Explorer to drag and drop sound files from folder to folder. It's incredibly easy. Another thing is that there is no converting of files required. The mp3 files can be edited, converted to wav, saved to hard disk, or burned to a CD.

Extra Features

The recorder I use has an extra feature I haven't seen in any other models. It allows me to transfer music mp3 files to it and use it as an Ipod player. So, instead of carrying an ipod and a DVR, just bring the RCA Digital Voice Recorder.

Conclusion

There's no question that you'll find a Digital Voice Recorder to be a valuable tool. It's one of those things were the more you have the device, the more uses for it you are able to come up with. So, whichever Digital Voice Recorder you decide to get, I know you'll find it one of your most powerful tools as you learn Spanish. Good Luck to you!
