Notice the example this phrase gives of the distinction between ser and estar. Use ser here because becoming a doctor is a permanent thing. It's a once in a lifetime change so it gets the word ser and not estar.

To say can you tell me, say puedes decirme. The words decir and me get combined into one word.



No puedo salir porque tengo que estudiar para una prueba que tengo mañana.


I can't go out because I have to study for a test I have tomorrow.
Here's a good example of a cause and effect sentence in Spanish. Use porque to say because.



Cuando salgo del colegio voy a trabajar como doctor.


When I get out of college I'm going to work as a doctor.



Este año tengo dos clases que pasan totalmente en el Internet.


This year I have two classes that take place completely on the Internet.



He estado en este colegio por cuatro años.


I've been in this college for four years.



Mi clase favorito solo junta un día a la semana.
